Bogorodica 28.08 (Macedonian for 'mother of God') is a composition that deals with expectation, promise, tragedy, grief and acceptance. The 28th of August is the date that celebrates her death. The composition draws on traditional Macedonian music that ranges from village polyphonic female singing, male octophony church singing and unique timbral qualities found in instrumental music. The composition presents a contemporary voice expressing, re-interpreting, and developing musical elements often dating back to the ancient era.

The composition has been awarded: 2nd Prize at the 5th International ‘Pierre Schaeffer’ Computer Music Competition, 2006; Honorary Mention at the 2005 Musica Nova International Electro-acoustic Competition; and, Finalist at the 33rd Palmarès du 33e Concours Internationaux de Musique et d’Art Sonore Electroacoustiques de Bourges.
